Derived from Tagalog, the unique Pilipino language is a mix of linguistic elements from other Philippine languages. In 1937, The Official National Language of Philippines was Tagalog, which was then changed to Pilipino in 1961 but in recent years it has been re-labeled as Filipino in order to acknowledge and embrace the existence of and preference for various English and Spanish derived words. But Tagalog is still seen to be the main Philippines language used in many of the literary works and scientific researches till today. |
