Philippines on a new measure to help poverty stricken people

Within the next four years, Philippines will see to it that 8 million people will be ridden from the poverty background.  With the economic growth in the country benefiting the rich at large, Philippines will see to it that this measure comes as a relief to those who are suffering from poverty. Plans to reduce 16% of the number of people who are living on a dollar a day or less than that by 2015.

Though it was noticed that there was tremendous economic growth in the country over the past decade, the poverty of the country showed less improvement. The data showed that 23 million of Filipinos had survived on 46.14 pesos a day or less than that during the time of economic growth.

The new measure will be spread across the poverty stricken people by way of a Brazilian-style conditional cash transfer programme  which will give 21 billion pesos to all the poor families in the country. The hand-outs will be provided for those who go to schools and get hold of the health checks. It is also seen that 200 banks will be giving small loans to almost 700,000 entrepreneurs to start their own business.
